Professor and Deputy Chair
Dr. Abel Navarro is a Professor at BMCC. Dr. Navarro conducts research with talented BMCC students and colleagues from other colleges about bioremediation of environmental pollutants using biological wastes. Abel is aiming the use of low-cost, yet efficient, adsorbents of contaminants from wastewaters. Abel E. Navarro received his M.S. and Ph.D. in Chemistry from New York University.
Luis González-Urbina received his BS in Chemistry and a MS in Physical Chemistry from the University of the Basque Country (UPV-EHU), Spain, and a MS in Material Engineering for Microelectronics from the University of Leuven (KU Leuven), Belgium. After a short time in industry he obtained a PhD in Chemistry at KU Leuven. Dr. González-Urbina has taught Chemistry at Hostos Community College (Bronx) and Guttman Community College (Manhattan) before joining Borough of Manhattan Community College in 2016.
Roberto Sequeira is an ASAP Academic Advisor at BMCC and a Brooklyn native. His passion is to help students who are coming from struggled backgrounds and need guidance to succeed. He holds a B.A. in Political Science from Brooklyn college and a. After a year's break, Master’s from Baruch College in Higher Education Administration. His research mainly focused on was on racial equity in education.
Cassandra Constant is an ASAP Academic Advisor at BMCC. Cassandra has worked for the BMCC- ASAP Program for the past five years, and has been working at CUNY since 2011. She is extremely passionate in promoting students’ success, assisting them through their journey, and helping them tackle life issues through critical thinking and career workshops. She holds a Master’s from John Jay in Public Administration.
